What is Miracle-Minded Healing?

Miracle-minded healing is a spiritual approach to healing found in A Course in Miracles, which teaches that miracles are expressions of love. In this understanding, physical illness is a projection of deep-seated beliefs that we are separate, guilty, and unworthy. These beliefs are not true; the Course teaches that we are children of God, whose true nature is whole, holy, and at one with all that is. As our false beliefs about ourselves are dispelled and awareness of our true nature is restored, the body’s healing follows automatically.

Role of the Healer

In a healing session, the healer enters a state of peace that the Course calls a holy instant. In this instant, the healer looks past appearances—past the body, the illness, and false beliefs—to see you as you truly are: an eternal spiritual being whose wholeness has never been lost. The healer also inwardly joins with you by recognizing that, at the deepest level, you are already one.

This way of seeing is itself an act of love. And love, the Course teaches, has the power to dissolve false beliefs and the illness they produce. By giving love, the healer serves as a channel for the Holy Spirit, Who is the true source of healing.
